Lights Loose Players (And Gain Some!)
Sunday 27th July 2008
As a club we have lost a couple of players over the past few months. Graham Masters left us to pursue his career down south while Bryan Griffiths work took him to the Emerald Isle. Our coach Tomi Tynkkynen has also left us and is back in Finland after helping out with charitible work in the Phillipines. Jan Kransky also moves back to the Czech Republic so wont be playing for us this year. Dundee wish these guys all the best in the future and they were an important part of the team.
With the loss of some brings the arrival of a new players over the past few months who will no doubt start to make appearances at games and events. Keep an eye on our players page for updates on new arrivals.

Dundee Make a Good Start to 2008
Monday 18th February 2008
The Dundee Northern Lights Floorball Club has made an excellent start in the New Year.
The Lights first competition was on Saturday 19th January, hosting their own mini tournament at the Mayfield Sports Complex on Arbroath Road. League teams Aberdeen Oilers, Forth Phoenix, and RBS Linlithgow joined Dundee in a round-robin tournament where teams played 1 game against each other. The Lights managed to win all 3 of their games to take the tournament title. Final scores were – Dundee 4 Forth 1, Dundee 5 RBS 2, Dundee 7 Aberdeen 1.
On Sunday past, 27th January, it was back to league business as Dundee hosted tournament 4 of the regular season. The first opponents for the Lights were Hawick, who entered the day 2 places above Dundee in the table. In a fast paced game, the goals started coming early on and it was Hawick who took a quick 2 – 0 lead. The Lights pulled one back only to lose 2 more and go down 4 – 1. The teams traded goals in the second period which ended at 5 – 2 for Hawick. The Lights came out at the beginning of the 3rd period determined to close the gap and played their best 15 minutes of the season as they scored 4 unanswered goals to win 6 – 5 and take 3 points.
The second match for Dundee was against none other than Hawick again. It was decided by the organisers that because of the distance to travel up to Dundee, both league encounters would be played at the same tournament. Hawick were determined to reverse the results of the first match and started out strong. The Lights were equal to the task and the score stood level at 2 - 2 after 1 period. The second period also ended with both teams on 4 goals. Hawick opened the 3rd period scoring and the Lights equalised. Hawick again went up by 1 only to have Dundee draw level. The score stood at 6 – 6 when Dundee went ahead with only 3 minutes to go. The Lights were able to hold off several good scoring chances by Hawick to run out winners by the score of 7 – 6, taking maximum points from the 2 matches
In the final match of the day for Dundee, it looked on paper to be a much easier task as the Light’s opponents, Balwearie Lightning, were one place off the foot of the league table. It was Balwearie who started stronger by going up 2 – 0 after the first 5 minutes. Dundee was able to regain their composure and steadily scored goals in each of the 3 periods of the match. Balwearie pulled 1 more back, but the final of 9 – 3 for Dundee was an accurate reflection of the places each team now occupy in the table.
The 2007/2008 Season Is Nearly On Us!
Saturday 22nd September 2007
The floorball season is once again just around the corner. Sunday sees the first of this seasons games with Dundee in action at Mayfield in Dundee against Balwearie Lightning and the new guys in the Northern League, Forth.
Forth are made up of some ex Balwearie players as well as a load of players new to the Northern League. Early indications suggest that they will be stiff opposition and should give a few teams a run for their money.
Balwearie Lightning have high hopes this season and a few of their players have indicated they are looking to make progress this season by toppling some of the big guns. This Sunday could be a great test for a new look Dundee squad.
Dundee would like to extend a warm welcome to Forth and wish them success in their first season (apart from when we play them of course!)

Its been a hard season but the whole team played well to get this position and are keen to defend it in the 2007/2008 season.
